The concentration idea that I have chosen is the making of art or the tools of art like paint, colored pencils, oil pastels, etc. I will show the tools textures, how they are different, and what there result is when you use them. I am focusing on color + mood and texture to show the different forms of art. I really love color so I want that to be a big part of the concentration.

Hi Hallie,
ReplyDeleteI want to apologize for not commenting on your work weekly. Somehow I didn't get your page on my original list. I think you have an idea with a lot of potential for intriguing imagery. You might want to think of a personal connection to the passage of time. Are you fascinated by the passage of time? Scared of it? Neutral? How do you feel about aging and decay? Is time a positive or negative force or both to you? I would try to go beyond simple shots in a sequence and try to tell us a story about the passage of time and its effects. The rose images are clearly about decay. I like seeing the process and "evidence" of time in the painted images. These two to me go a little deeper than just a sequence of action shots. Keep going with this exploration! You're clearly trying out a variety of perspectives on this topic.
I love your concentration theme! Your pictures work really well in demonstrating your theme and I really like how their all different. I also really like how their all colorful and fun!
